Melissa Garcia Martinez, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Hi, My name is Melissa, and I am a cognitive-based, solution-oriented therapist that can help you take charge of your day. What does that mean? You have more power than you know! Together, we will recreate opportunities, overcome obstacles, and help you through the forks in the road with gentle ease. Thoughts are powerful! We are what we think and what we tell ourselves.

My goal is to help all of my clients adapt to respectfully observing their thoughts rather than identifying with their thoughts. I am a graduate from Florida International University with over 25 years of experience, I am confident in my abilities to help you overcome the struggles with compassion.

I am currently offering sessions for individual therapy with a specialization in women's issues, depression, anxiety, and stress management. Don't hesitate to call. Together, we can help develop your self-awareness so that depression, anxiety, and all of life's challenges seem like minor steppingstones towards the greatest you.

Jessica McDonald Psy.D

Health Psychologist

Hi! I’m Dr. Jessica McDonald, a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Florida. I earned bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Sociology as well as my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida. I then went on to earn my doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Health Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. I completed a predoctoral internship with the Orlando VA Healthcare System which gave me really strong skills in treating distress following acute medical changes as well as treating distress related to chronic pain. I then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tampa General Hospital where I specialized in Rehabilitation and Health Psychology and focused on assessing and treating predominantly brain injury survivors and oncology patients.

Primarily, I work with individuals ages 16+ who are experiencing a range of difficulties surrounding their health. My approach to therapy focuses on the whole person; my goal is to understand how biological, social, and psychological factors come together to impact overall wellness. I use that understanding to then collaborate with clients to create meaningful and specific goals that ultimately reduce suffering and improve quality of life. I use evidence-based treatments and I firmly believe that all interventions should be tailored to fit clients’ needs and their unique circumstances/lived experiences. Therapy is about making sure you have the tools to live the life you have been hoping for- I’d love to have the chance to help get you there!

My specialties include:

- Adaptation to chronic illness

- Adjustment to disability- i.e. brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, limb loss

- Chronic pain management

- Health psychology- i.e. behavior and lifestyle changes, adherence to medical treatment plans, mood changes following new diagnosis and/or treatments

Where do you find your heart hurts the most? When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said, I see you, I hear you, and I accept you! You’re going through a difficult time in your life. Were you recently diagnosed with a chronic illness or coping with that of a loved one? Many people face depression and anxiety when faced with these challenges. I’m Annemarie Morales, I am a Florida International University graduate with over 10 years of experience. My goal is to help radically change the way you view your mental health struggles through positive psychology and compassionate care. Healing has a ripple effect. So, let's dive in!

My therapeutic style can be described as collaborative, compassionate, nurturing, nonjudgmental, and genuine. I commonly use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based stress reduction, and motivational enhancement to improve an individual’s ability to cope and adjust to life stressors.

Psychotherapy is a calm and safe space for clients to process any challenges they may bring in. I encourage a supportive and empathetic environment, empowering patients to share feelings causing them distress. In psychotherapy, we can work through the challenges that lie ahead and learn new coping skills to help you work toward a healthier you!
